Culture & community
Roots can grow far from home, too.
Identity is shared in small things and enriched when different generations find space to talk.

A tradition finds another place
Sometimes a tradition travels in a recipe; sometimes in a greeting or the music at a gathering. It does not have to be repeated exactly the same way to remain meaningful.
In Pennsylvania, our roots live alongside new customs and experiences. That can be an opportunity to explain what we value and learn from the people with whom we share a community.
Every generation brings a perspective
People who remember life in the Dominican Republic can share stories others have not lived. Those who grew up here bring questions and different ways of expressing identity. Both perspectives belong.
A cultural gathering can be much more than a performance. It can also be a conversation where we ask, remember, and discover what we want to pass on to those who come after us.
An open invitation
Celebrating our roots does not have to close the door to people who do not share them. Inviting a neighbor, explaining a custom, or listening to another story expands what we can build together.
We imagine a community where culture brings us closer: with pride in who we are, curiosity about others, and room to keep making new memories.
